(Chicago, IL)-May 15, 2006-For the month of June 2006, the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau (CCTB) has 84 conventions, trade shows and other meetings on record. These events are expected to attract 245,077 attendees, who will spend an estimated $346 million while in the city of Chicago.
GLOBALCOMM 2006
The Telecommunications Industry Association's (TIA) rebranded show, Globalcomm 2006, will take place June 4-8 at McCormick Place. It is expected to attract 20,000 delegates and generate $37 million in direct expenditures for the city of Chicago.
Globalcomm features more than 450 exhibitors from more than 100 countries outside the US.
All CANDY EXPO®
The 2006 All Candy Expo will meet at McCormick Place June 6-8. It is expected to attract 18,000 delegates and generate an estimated $17 million in direct expenditures for the city of Chicago.
The Expo is the largest confectionery-only show in North America, featuring nearly 500 exhibitors showcasing more than 1,000 new products.
NEOCON® WORLD'S TRADE FAIR
More than 50,000 delegates will meet at the Merchandise Mart for NeoCon World's Trade Fair. The show will be held June 12-14 and is expected to generate $47 million in direct expenditures for the city of Chicago.
NeoCon is the contract furnishings industry's premier event and North America's largest conference and exhibition for interior design and facilities management. This three-day event features seven shows taking place simultaneously and features more than 1,200 companies exhibiting in over 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space.
NPE 2006: THE INTERNATIONAL
PLASTICS SHOWCASE
More than 75,000 delegates will meet at McCormick Place June 19-23 for NPE 2006: The International Plastics Showcase. It is expected to generate $140 million in direct expenditures for the city of Chicago.
NPE 2006 attracts industry professionals from over 100 countries, making it the world's largest exposition and conference for the plastics industry. More than 2,000 companies will exhibit at McCormick Place to demonstrate their latest products in over 1,000,000 net square footage of exhibit space.
